Farewell to Ireland - Music of the early Irish immigrants, recorded in the U.S.A. Running time: CD1 "Leaving Tipperary" 62 minutes 04 seconds. CD2: "Erin's Green Shore" 60 minutes 45 seconds. CD3: "Memories of Sligo" 64 minutes 36 seconds. CD4: "From Galway To Dunlin" 61 minutes 25 seconds. Recordings dated 1918 to 1948. Issued 2005. Compiled and produced by Ron Kavana. 40-page booklet (including covers) contains biographical information and photographs. Booklet written by Ron Kavana. Mis-spellings: "Galway" rendered as "Gallway", "Ed Reavy" rendered as "Ed Reevy". Unfortunately the dates of the recordings are mostly not given, the authors of the songs/tunes are usually not given, and no matrix numbers of the original issues are given. The instrumentals appear to be mostly traditional. The songs often have a vaudeville flavour - sentimental or comic. The two recordings by "Maurice McSweeney's Stars Of Munster" are modern hoaxes.
