Danced to the music for Black Alman.
For two couples in longways set formation, proper, facing up. Sections A, B, C, and D contain two measures each, sections E' and E'' contain one measure each. All doubles are alman doubles (free foot lifted forward into the air on the fourth beat of the measure and held there). If a pivot is needed to face appropriately for a following action, the pivot is done while lifting the free foot on the fourth beat of the measure.
A
forward two doubles: holding inside hands with partner, beginning with left foot walk two doubles forward (these doubles will alternate up the set and down the set on each repetition of the music), finally pivot to face partner
A
hey two places: beginning with left foot walk two doubles forward as part of a hey for four, no hands, progressing two places first passing right shoulders with partner then left shoulders with neighbour of same gender, finally pivot to face counter-clockwise around the circle (two of the dancers will have further to pivot)
B
circle right: take left hands with neighbour of opposite gender across set, beginning with left foot walk two doubles forward around the circle, finally pivot in place keeping the free foot on the ground to face clockwise around the circle
B
circle left: take right hands with neighbour of opposite gender across set, beginning with left foot walk two doubles forward around the circle, finally pivot to face partner

set and turn single: repeat the set and turn single
D
palm right: palm right with partner (palms held vertically, leave several inches of air between palms) while stepping diagonally forward to the left with left foot on the first beat of the measure, return to place on the second beat, quick reverence (quick bending of the knees while keeping upper body vertical) on the third beat, rest on the fourth beat
palm left: repeat with left palm and right foot
D
turn partner: hold right hands curled palm to palm with partner, your own palm facing you with several inches of air between palms as if holding a globe between you, beginning with left foot walk two doubles forward circling to the left around your partner to place, finally pivot to face partner
