A longways set for as many couples as will, duple improper, each lord on the lady's left. Active couples face down, inactive couples face up.

This dance is somewhat tricky especially for inexperienced dancers, trickier than I'd really like. A first version was taught on 2010-Nov-06, this second version on 2012-Feb-04.

A1 The active couples go down the centre four or five steps, turn alone, and come back up to centre to their neighbours, swing their neighbours, then finish facing across the set.

The result is progressed.
A2 Ladies cross the set giving left hand to partner, men give their ladies a courtesy turn, and keeping that courtesy position promenade back towards her side, ladies joining right hands in the centre (thus forming a star promenade).

Continue the promenade to the left (clockwise) three more places, men drop out when they reach home, ladies continues one more place.

The result is progressed.
B1 Inactive couple half figure eight down through the active couple, and come back up the outside to opposite places.

Inactive couple short swing and finish facing down; and while they swing, the active couple do a slow half gypsy to change places.

The result is progressed and crossed.
B2 Active couple half figure eight up through the inactive couple, and come back down the outside to opposite places.

Active couple short swing and finish facing down to your new inactive couple; and while they swing, the inactive couple do a slow half gypsy to change places and finish facing up to your new active couple.

The result is progressed.
