Danced to the lovely music Saltarello II.

In longways set formation for as many couples as will, proper, facing up.

Music section A has 8 beats, 4 beats, 8 beats.
Music section B has 6 beats, 2 beats, 6 beats, 2 beats.
Music section C has 8 beats, 6 beats.
Music section D is the same as the first part of music section C, and has 8 beats.

All steps, whether single or double, end with a hop. Dancers should step hop in place when not travelling.

A Couples face up, take inside hands, do outside double forward (up), inside double forward, single apart, single together, outside double backward, inside double backward. See Note 1.
A As A above.
B Lord four singles clockwise around lady beginning with outside foot, lady four singles counter-clockwise around lord beginning with outside foot. The singles have to cover one quarter of the circle with each step.
A + A As A above, twice.
C Arm right beginning with outside foot taking seven singles to end up both facing up again (lady will have about three singles to complete her turn while the lord step hops in place). Arm left beginning with outside foot taking seven singles to end up both facing up again (lord will have about three singles to complete his turn while the lady step hops in place).
A + A As A above, twice.
C As C above.
A + A As A above, twice.
B As B above.
A As A above. Note that there is only one repetition of music A here.
D Reverence, perhaps in the Italian style, taking the same time as eight steps would take.

 

Note 1: Take care to make the forward doubles short, or the set will migrate up the hall.
